LBU

Teaterhuset Munken drives av Larvik barne- og ungdomsteater. I LBU er det plass og behov for alle!

Larvik Barne- og Ungdomsteater (LBU) was founded in 2007 as a separate part of the then association «Herregårdsspillet», which was active in Larvik for over 20 years. Since Teaterhuset Munken became a reality, thanks to a fantastic gift from Gjensidigestiftelsen, Larvik Barne- og Ungdomsteater has seen a large influx of theatre lovers of all ages!

The participation on stage, in front of it and behind it at our performances is impressive, as is the commitment the board and other volunteers show in working on our productions and restoring Teaterhuset Munken!

Every week around 150 children take part in our various theatre classes. Friendships and memories are made, songs and dances are rehearsed and lines are learned. As well as smaller productions along the way, tableaux and appearances at events such as «Kulturnatta» and «Teatervandring», we stage larger productions where the children and young people get to shine on the venerable stage of Teaterhuset Munken.

Behind every production lie countless hours of volunteer work, not least on sets, props and costume sewing. The helpers behind the scenes do their best so that the effort the children put into rehearsals, learning lines, choreography and so on is both supported and rewarded with quality costumes, props and sets. At LBU we work to keep quality and visual impression high, to the delight of both audience and actors.
