A cultural venue unlike any other! Teaterhuset Munken was built in 1921 and served as a combined theatre and cinema until 2009. With its decorations and charm, the theatre house is a fantastic setting for cultural experiences. Teaterhuset Munken has slowly but surely been restored through thousands of hours of volunteer work, and today it is an increasingly popular and sought-after meeting place for cultural Larvik. Teaterhuset Munken is well established as a meeting point for culture with breadth and enthusiasm, and both the main hall and the foyer and café are rented out for conferences, concerts and private events, giving your event a nostalgic setting.
Courses and conferences:
Both the main hall and the foyer are well suited for courses, meetings and conferences. With our conference packages we can offer technical solutions adapted to your needs, in a historic setting. Get in touch for a friendly chat and a quote. The main hall seats 370 in auditorium layout. On the foyer stage, tables and chairs can be set up flexibly for up to 40–50 people. Smaller meetings or gatherings can also be held in our Mirror Hall on the 2nd floor.
Concerts and events:
Let Teaterhuset Munken create the perfect setting for your event. Both the main hall and the foyer are set up for easy running and good care of the audience. The foyer can be adapted to your event, with options for both small tables and concert seating. Capacity at the foyer stage is flexible, about 60 people. The main stage has 370 seats.
Party venue:
The theatre’s foyer and café are rented out for private events such as birthdays and parties. The café area has room for tables and chairs for 40 people, and you can add small tables in the foyer. We can also provide kitchen equipment and tableware. Projector, lighting and sound can also be hired.
Costume and set hire:
We hire out both single costumes and complete productions to private customers and other theatre groups. We look after a large costume store with everything from beautiful dresses to animal costumes. We also have a large selection of costumes in different sizes from the productions Aladdin, Ronja the Robber’s Daughter and Robin Hood.

There is a lot to sort out for an event, and we can help with most of it, whether you want to skip the decorating, the serving or the clearing up afterwards.
